ZERO CARBON STUDENT LIVING

Discover the plan for Verto’s Zero Carbon Student Village.

STUDENT LIVING WITH A DIFFERENCE

We believe everyone should be able to live carbon free. That means people of all ages, from all walks of life, should have access to high-quality housing that doesn’t harm our planet. Beautiful, welcoming, sustainable spaces where everyone can enjoy a zero carbon lifestyle.

For that reason, we’ve been developing the UK’s first net Zero Carbon Student Village on the outskirts of Falmouth and Penryn. Once built, the location will become a vibrant hub for students and locals alike, boasting 1,858 zero carbon bedspaces alongside brand new zero carbon commercial and leisure facilities.

GOOD FOR PEOPLE, GOOD FOR THE PLANET

We want the local community to enjoy the places we create as much as the people who live, work and study in them. That’s why our beautiful, sustainable developments are built with everyone in mind.
Wonderfully net zero

Once complete, our buildings release zero carbon emissions. But that’s not enough for us. We’ll also plant over 2,000 new trees onsite, which will absorb nearly 44.5 tonnes of CO2 every year – and we’ll offset all construction emissions through exciting environmental and re-wilding projects in Cornwall.

New facilities for your community

Sports and leisure facilities including a gym, squash courts, tennis courts and a full-size multi-purpose pitch won’t just be for the students – they’ll be yours to enjoy too. Not to mention a GP surgery, day nursery, restaurant, café and bar. All of them zero carbon.

A space for everyone

Over 535 parking spaces, including 45 disabled spaces, will mean fewer cars in Falmouth and Penryn centres. A 180-space ‘Park and Change’ facility will also reduce congestion, encouraging other users of the A39 – not just students – to park and complete their journey more sustainably.

Connecting a new generation

Inspiring minds is key to building a sustainable future. Cornwall has long been a world-leader in the advancement of sustainable and renewable technologies, with the local universities offering unique courses such as the Renewable Energy Engineering BSC. Our ambition is to support the continuation of these advancements, by providing a zero carbon environment, on which to build the foundations for a truly sustainable future.
