Working with our home hardware, Octopus’ tech platform, Kraken, balances the cost of drawing energy from the grid with the energy it feeds back in. The result: a home with no energy bills.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Yes, Zero Bills is an Octopus initiative. When you buy your new home, activating your Zero Bills plan is easy. Octopus will send you a Welcome Pack on move-in day with simple steps to follow online.
Octopus currently guarantee to offer the Zero Bill for 5 years. This will be updated over time.
Octopus have included a ‘Fair Use Allowance’ in their Zero Bills plan. This is set at approximately double the expected household usage, so customers should only exceed this allowance if they have very high heating preferences.
For electricity used above the Fair Use Allowance, you will be billed at the Flexible Octopus unit rate, with billing done on an annual basis.
One day, we hope cars will be as efficient as our homes. Until then, they consume a lot of electricity. For this reason, EV charging is not included within the Zero Bills allowance, but will be billed separately at Intelligent Octopus tariff unit rates. The rest of your home’s energy needs remain free.
